As the renovation of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel into the Pixar Place Hotel nears completion, the lobby has unveiled a series of striking new pop art mobiles showcasing beloved Pixar characters.

These seven vibrant mobiles feature a trio of characters from various Pixar films. It remains uncertain whether these artistic creations are crafted from authentic glass or colored plexiglass.

The films and franchises highlighted in the mobiles include:
– “Toy Story”
– “WALL-E”
– “The Incredibles”
– “Finding Nemo”
– “Soul”
– “Ratatouille”
– “Coco”
– “Monsters, Inc.”

The “Toy Story” mobile artistically represents Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Bo Peep with a limited color palette and simple lines. The “WALL-E” mobile features EVE, WALL-E, and his notable boot planter.

Adjacent to this display is the “The Incredibles” mobile, showcasing stylized interpretations of Mrs. Incredible/Elastigirl, Frozone, and Jack Jack. Frozone appears to glide effortlessly, while Mrs. Incredible reaches toward the small Jack Jack.

The “Finding Nemo” mobile depicts the main trio: Marlin, Nemo, and Dory, with Marlin and Nemo represented in orange and white panels, while Dory is rendered in blue and yellow hues.

In the “Soul” mobile, characters from the Great Before are depicted, with Joe Gardner identifiable by his unique stained glass hat, accompanied by 22 and Jerry, a soul counselor.

Another mobile features a mix of characters from different films, including Miguel and Hector from “Coco,” and Remy from “Ratatouille.”

Finally, the “Monsters, Inc.” mobile showcases Sulley, Mike Wazowski, and Boo, with distinct shapes representing each character. Sulley is illustrated with a circular form, while Mike’s circular body and large eye make him easily recognizable. Boo is represented simply with a circle for her head, paired with minimalistic lines and triangles for her limbs and pigtails.

The Paradise Pier Hotel first opened in 1984 as the Emerald of Anaheim under the Tokyu Group. Disney acquired the property in 1995, renaming it the Disneyland Pacific Hotel. Following the Disneyland Resort’s 2001 expansion, the hotel became Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, named after the nearby Disney California Adventure land.

In 2018, part of Paradise Pier was transformed into Pixar Pier, complemented by the remaining area becoming Paradise Gardens Park. The redesign into Pixar Place Hotel was announced during the D23 Expo in 2022 and began in October of that year. Throughout the reimagining, the hotel has remained open for guests. The new design incorporates a colorful, artistic theme with numerous Pixar elements and will officially debut as Pixar Place Hotel on January 30, 2024.

Last year, Disney provided a sneak peek of a Pixar Place Hotel room, and the Sketch Pad Cafe recently opened its doors within the hotel.
