Some iPhone 17 Users Experience Issues with Apple Intelligence Features

A number of iPhone 17 users are facing challenges with Apple Intelligence, likely due to a bug affecting the functionality of the AI features on their devices. Reports have emerged that, despite having the AI suite installed, these features are not operational for some individuals.

While this issue does not appear to be widespread, it is certainly not an isolated case. Affected users have reported that although Apple Intelligence is present on their devices, they are prompted to download it again. The installation shows as incomplete, with downloads stalling and never finishing.

This problem seems to be impacting various models, including the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the new iPhone Air. One user stated that Apple customer support acknowledged the issue and suggested waiting for an update to resolve it.

Although the number of users facing this problem is limited, the situation is somewhat embarrassing for Apple, particularly given the recent scrutiny of their AI rollout. Customers originally had high hopes for the AI features, which were initially promised back in 2024.

Additionally, the iPhone 17 has encountered other issues, including cellular connectivity problems that many users have reported. Consumers anxiously await software updates that might resolve these challenges. Furthermore, the new aluminum chassis of the iPhone 17 Pro models is proving to be more susceptible to damage from scrapes or falls compared to their titanium predecessors, although Apple has dismissed these concerns.

These ongoing issues illustrate a worrying trend in Apple’s quality control regarding software updates, which seems to have diminished in recent years.
